Cortes are traditional handwoven skirts worn by Mayan women and are typically blue, as with these pillows. Each lumbar pillow cover also features a randa, a traditional decorative hand-embroidered band, across the middle of the pillow, which adds a pop of color without being too loud. The edges of the cover feature similarly colorful decorative bands that are woven, not embroidered.
